Explanation

Pakistan joined the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in 1969. The OIC was founded that same year following the First Islamic Summit Conference held in Rabat, Morocco, which was organized in response to the attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Initially named the Organization of the Islamic Conference, it was renamed to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in 2011. The OIC currently includes 57 member countries, mostly Muslim-majority states, and focuses on issues such as peace, security, poverty reduction, and combating terrorism and diseases. Its official languages are Arabic, English, and French, and it maintains permanent delegations at the United Nations and the European Union.
